I’m a big believer in that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that everything does work out and we all have a purpose. My favorite quote that has gotten me through a lot of crazy stuff is, “But the great thing is…” and then I just fill in the blank. It helps me turn my brain towards the silver lining of a situation.

As a society we wait for tragedies to occur before we take any preventative measures. It takes something like a line of duty death, a school shooting, or a major incident, before anyone looks at addressing the issue and that’s not the prudent thing to do. Whether you’re an administrator, a community leader, or an individual, you have to start taking care of yourself and your community before something tragic happens. As an organization…

Focus on You: In the age of social media, a lot of dissatisfaction is caused by comparing oneself to other’s portrayal of their lives. To encourage a stable and healthy state of mental wellbeing, it’s important to avoid any urge to compare one’s life to others. That is a big step towards unconditional happiness of who you are and what you have.
